Badminton Sheffield Update 9th July

Dear All,

Yesterday the Government announced that at the end of July all Leisure centres would be allowed to open amongst other businesses. This, however, doesn’t mean that they, leisure centres, will all open at this time.

For all clubs that play in leisure centres you will need to check what covid secure arrangements they will be putting in place for the playing of Badminton. I would draw attention to the email I forwarded to every club from Badminton England on covid secure measures that you may have to put into place once leisure centres opened. For clubs who hire school sports halls the situation may be different in fact it is highly likely that the schools will not be opening their sports halls till they go back in September. I am aware that we have a couple of clubs in the association who are fortunate enough to have their own facilities. Both these clubs will need to check what covid secure arrangements they will have to put into place for the playing of Badminton to take place at their respective venues.

The Association Committee are having a meeting on Monday 13th July at which these developments will be discussed. The committee will be aiming to put together a set of protocols for the association to follow ready for the restart of Badminton in September.

Stay Safe

Kind Regards

Andrew

Hon Secretary

Badminton Sheffield.
